Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get from the airport to La Maleva?

The easiest way to get to La Maleva is to use one of the Remis companies (a private car service), which you can find right after going through customs, just before exiting the secured area. The companies we recommend are WorldCars, VIP, Manuel Tienda Leon, or Airport Express. Prices vary, so it may be worth shopping around.

There is also the possibility of taking a taxi. There is a central reservation desk located just outside the secured area. Do not accept rides offered to you in the airport if they are not affiliated with a taxi or Remise service.

What about my laundry?

Regrettably, we do not have a laundry machine for guest use, but there is a laundry and dry cleaning service located just a few blocks from the house. We do have an ironing board, in case you find yourself needing one.

Is there a safe where I can store my valuables?

Each room comes equipped with its own safe.

Is there a space where I can practice my dancing?

There is a dance studio (fully equipped with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, a sound system, and a large choice of music) that is available for play, practice, or prviates (with the teacher of your choice). Regular hours are daily from 12h00 pm to 21h00, wherein 13h00 to 15h00 is designated as shared practice time. There are also regular group classes on some days of the week. Time in the studio should be reserved on the schedule located in the office, and we ask that guests do not reserve more than two consecutive hours, so all have equally opportunity to use the studio.

Is the neighborhood safe?

Almagro is generally considered a safe neighborhood, as are most parts of Buenos Aires, but basic safety precautions should help avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Where can I find information about what I can do in Buenos Aires?

Each room is equipped with a little guide book that contains a map of the neighborhood; a list of neighborhood and not-so neighborly restaurants; a list of Tango shoe and clothing stores; a list of Milongas you might like to visit; and a few suggestions regarding daily expeditions (tours, museums, shopping, etc.). And we will always be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

What is La Maleva’s involvement in charity work?

Though Argentina’s economy is in full grwoth, great poverty and suffering remain. We have decided to try to do our part in helping out by donating 5% of all profits at La Maleva toa n organization called La Grieta. It is located in Rosario, Mariana’s home town, and offers Workshops, classes and support to children in needs. If you would like to know more about this, or if you would like to help out, please don’t hesitate to let us know!
